SERVICES APPRECIATED
Because of the great services he had given in the training and organization of the medical section of the Gore E.P.S., the committee of that organization recently wrote to the Automobile Association (Southland) asking that Mr H. A. McColl, who is a patrol officer of the association, should not be transferred from Gore to Invercargill. The letter also stated that Mr McColl during ins two years' work in Gore had made the association something of a reality in the district.
When the letter came before a meeting of the general committee of the association last night the president, Mr M. M. Macdonald, stated that as it was desirable to have EP.S. matters settled promptly he had replied to the letter stating that the association was faced with difficulties because of shortage of staff and had to replace its remaining staff to the best advantage. Mr McColl was the only remaining male member cf the staff and it was now necessary for him to be stationed at Invercargill. His connection with Gore and the Eastern District would be retained by periodical visits and the association’s office in Gore would remain open. The action of the president was endorsed.
