DANGEROUS PRACTICE

ALL NIGHT PARKING IN STREETS

The danger of parking cars all night in the streets, especially with the reduced , street lighting, was mentioned by Mr I. V. Wilson at the meeting of the general committee of the Automobile Association (Southland) last night. Mr Wilson said that the practice was very common in Gladstone, where a number of cars were commonly parked all night in the streets. Mr D. J. Wesney said the same trouble was being experienced in Wellington . Mr Wilson: Conditions are different in Wellington. Many people there have no garages and have no room on their sections for garages or for parking a car. The position is totally different here. In Gladstone there are three or four cars which are always on the street, yet the owners could easily run. them on to the drives in their sections.

The president, Mr M. M. Macdonald, said he thought the matter was one for the authorities rather than for the association.
