RED CROSS SOCIETY AND PATRIOTIC FUND

The relations between the Red Cross Society and the Southland Provincial Patriotic Council were discussed at a meeting of the executive of the council yesterday. The discussion was in committee. Afterwards it was reported that it had been decided to write to Mr G. A. Hayden, secretary of the National .Patriotic Fund Board, suggesting that when he visits Invercargill on August 26 he should be accompanied by a leading official of the Red Cross Society from Wellington, who could explain the relationship of the Red Cross Society to the Patriotic Fund. It was decided to point out to Mr Hayden that great damage might be done by any misunderstanding between the Patriotic and Red Cross organizations.
