CLEARING SALE AT GAP ROAD

The National Mortgage and Agency Co., Ltd., report having held a successful clearance sale on the property of Mr G. A. Pearce, Gap Road, implements selling at much above ruling rates. Prices were as follows:—Two-tooth ewes 41/6, four-tooth ewes 43/6, six and eight-tooth ewes 37/6, full and failing-mouth ewes 25/-, horses from £lO to £2l.

CHARLES BEGG AND COY.

Net earnings of £3566, compared with £4293 last year and £7875 in 1940, are shown in the accounts of Charles Begg and Company, Ltd., Dunedin, for the year ended March 31. There is £11,109 available. The directors recommend a’ dividend of 5 per cent., unchanged, taking £3500, leaving £7609 to be carried forward, against £7542 brought in. The company paid 14/- in the £ for security and income taxes and’ another 1/7 for land tax. The subsidiary, the Dominion Radio and Electrical Corporation, showed a profit of £197 after providing for taxes.
