English Praise For New Zealanders

Some pleasing tributes to New Zealanders are continued in a letter received by a Geraldine woman from a cousin in England. The letter states: “We are thrilled over the New Zealanders. They are immensely popular, and we all felt it as a personal loss when ‘Cobber’ Kain went. A cousin of his is one of the many who uses our telephone. Our engineer boarder says: ‘Give me a New Zealand engineer every time.’ It is so wonderful, the wholehearted way they come to our rescue without any thought of what they may gain. No other country in the world can have overseas belongings with that fine spirit. One hasn’t a qualm about the final victory.”
