COST OF LIVING BONUS

EXEMPTION FROM ORDER application of board GRANTED (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 28. In a judgment delivered by Mr Justice Tyndall the Arbitration Court today granted the application by the Auckland Transport Board for exemption from the general order of 5 per cent, increase in wages to the employees. The exemption was granted the board because of a bonus of 8 per cent, having been granted by the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr S. Ritchie) prior to the issue by the Arbitration Court of the general order. In another judgment the Hospital Board’s application for exemption from the general order was refused by the Arbitration Court.
