PARTY OF SCOTTISH BOYS AND GIRLS

WELLINGTON, September 28.

All the 89 Scottish children who have arrived in New Zealand to make temporary homes for the duration of the war will be dispersed to them by Monday. Thirty-five were nominated by relations; Fourteen went to the South Island last night, some to make their homes in Christchurch, some in Timaru, some in Dunedin, and one in Hokitika. Other nominated children have already joined relations in Wellington or are on their way to homes further north. Fifty-four of the children who have come to homes offered by. fosterparents have been divided into four parties, 10 going to Palmerston North, 10 to Masterton, 10 to Lower Hutt and 24 to Wellington. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, has cabled news of the children’s arrival to the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs, Lord Caldecote, and the High Commissioner in London, Mr W. J. Jordan, and also the provosts of Edinburgh and Glasgow. PARTY REACHES CANADA (Received September 29, 7.30 p.m.) MONTREAL, September 27. A party of 120 British children arrived safely at an eastern Canadian port after narrowly escaping a dozen bombs when leaving England.
