WEDDING

CARRICK—KINGSLAND

The marriage was solemnized at All ■ Saints Church, Gladstone, on Saturday morning of Ray Maud, only daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Kingsland, Duke street, and Pilot Officer John Francis Carrick, only son of Mr and Mrs K. Carrick, Elies road. The Rev. S. A. G. Hurd performed the ceremony, which was fully choral, and Mrs P. Skelt played the wedding music. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a trained gown of reversible ivory satin, cut on classical lines. Mrs J. Brown, of Invercargill, attended the bride as matron of honour, and Miss Jessie Carrick, only sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Isobel Brown, of Dunedin, were bridesmaids. They wore similar frocks of pale pink embroidered Swiss organdie over taffetas, with picture hats to match. Pilot Officer Bruce Thomson, of Ohakai, was best man, and Messrs V. and T. Kingsland, brothers of the bride, were ushers. The reception was held at Elmwood Garden, where the guests were received by Mrs Kingsland and Mrs Carrick. Mr H. Rewi Kingsland sang at the reception. For travelling, the bride wore a grey model frock, a blue coat and hat and a platinum fox fur. Mr and Mrs Carrick will live in the meantime at Blenheim.
