SMASH-AND-GRAB RAID
GREYMOUTH JEWELLER’S STORE ROBBED
(United Press Association)
GREYMOUTH, September 27.
Watches and rings valued at £250 to £3OO were stolen during a smash-and-grab raid on the jeweller’s store of Mr John Tennent in Mawhera Quay early this morning. A plate glass show window was smashed sufficiently to allow the insertion of an arm to reach trays containing expensive wristlet watches and signet rings. Cheaper articles of jewellery in the window were not touched.
