LICENCES FOR GOODS SERVICES
APPLICATIONS HEARD BY AUTHORITY
The sitting of the No. 4 Licensing Authority (Mr S. V. Raines) in Invercargill concluded yesterday morning when several applications for the renewal of goods service licences were heard.
The applications of W. F. Brunton (Ermedale), T. C. Duncan (Nightcaps) and H. Ferguson (Ohai) were . considered and decision was reserved. The licences of W. Herrick and Sons (Orepuki), J. A. Mangan (Tuatapere), and McCurdy and Sons (Dipton) were renewed. The licence of the Minister of Railways for the services, LumsdenTe Anau-Milford Sound, and Lums-den-Kingston-Queenstown, was renewed. That for the Empire Forwarding Co., Ltd. (Invercargill), which was represented by Mr B. W. Hewat. was renewed with the revocation of exemption from the 30-mile railway restriction clause.
