Community Sing On October 17

A community sing, conducted by Mr R, (“Whang”) McKenzie, of Dunedin, assisted by Mrs Cameron as accompanist, will be held in the Civic Theatre on October 17. Mr McKenzie has stated that he will definitely be available for that date and has indicated his intention of bringing to Invercargill Mr Archie Jones, who, he says, is one of the best singers in New Zealand. The sing will be broadcast and cheerios in the form of “whangs” will be accepted for transmission over the air. The proceeds are to be devoted to the London air raid victims fund provided that that fund still remains open. If it is not open the proceeds will be given to the Patriotic Fund. ' '
