RIVERTON
DRAMATIC PLAYERS’ SUCCESSFUL NIGHT
Fleck’s Hall was crowded to Palmerston Street when the Riverton Dramatic Players Club made their first appearance. This new club formed in the district for community drama, presented a programme of three plays. Mr G. A. Wilkes, the producer, thanked the women of the Play-read-ing Circle for their help, Mesdames J. A. C. Mackenzie, Lance Raymond and Miss M. Price for aid with the makeup, those who had given the musical items that had been enjoyed, Miss C. Hancock, Messrs K. McNeil and A. Wilson, and the singers, Messrs J. Moss, J. Dawson, Mrs D. G. Souness and Miss F. McKay, and Miss M. Carmody, L.R.S.M., at the piano; the ticket sellers, and all who had helped. The plays were: “Entire change of Programme,” “The Prodigal Son.” and “Do It Now.” SALE OF WORK A successful sale of work was held in the Riverton Presbyterian Sunday School under the auspices of the P.W.M.U., the stalls being well filled. The Rev. J. A. F. Watson, Moderator, congratulated the women on the success of their efforts and thanked them for all that they had done. The stall holders were: Cakes, Mesdames G. Beange and A. H. Calder; tea rooms, Mesdames D. M. Tweedie, J. Buchanan; Misses. I. Armstrong, M. Robertson and V. Cassels; Busy Bees, Miss E. Tweedie and Mrs V. Rose; flowers, Misses Meek; fancy goods, Mesdames J. W. Martin, E. B. Patrick, J. A. F. Watson and Miss Allan; sweets, Mesdames W. Whittingham and T. Hogg; produce, Mesdames G. Brown and A. Provan; men’s, Mr H. E. Philp and Rev. J. A. F. Watson.
