SOUTHLAND SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS
EVENTS AT GLIDE RINK
There was a large attendance at the Southland roller skating championships at the Glide Rink last night. The fancy costumes worn by many of the skaters showed originality and provoked amusement from the onlookers. The following were the results of the competitions:—

Waltzing couples:—Mrs A. McLelland and J. Prince 1, Miss L. Bell and H. Pratt 2, and Miss N. Agnew and E, Tomlins 3.
Gliding couples.—Miss L. Hodge and H. Pratt 1, Mrs McLelland and J. Prince 2, and Miss B. Humphreys and E. Tomlins 3. Women’s fancy dress.—Miss C. Bell (Spanish dress). Men’s fancy dress.—R. Frampton (Spanish dress). Women’s original costume.—Mrs Douche (London air raid victim). Men’s comical dress.—Mr E. Abbey Jones (Charlie Chaplin). Girls’ fancy dress.—Miss Sutherland.
