THREE APPEALS ARE UPHELD
CONDITIONAL LICENCES FOR JOCKEYS (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 25. The result of appeals by five jockeys against the decision of the Executive Committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference in granting them for the 1940-41 racing season three months’ conditional jockeys’ licences to expire in October 31, 1940, was announced tonight. The appeals of Percy Burgess, Arthur Ernest Didham, and George Ronald Tattersall were upheld and the executive committee is to be directed to issue to them jockeys’ licences to expire on July 31, 1941. The appeals of William. James Broughton and Harold Norman Wiggins were dismissed and the judges ordered that in each case the amount lodged with the appeal (£10) should be retained by the conference. . ...
