INVERCARGILL FIRE BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING The Invercargill Fire Brigade attended eight calls during the month, according to the report of the superintendent, Mr F. S. Simpson, which was presented at the monthly meeting of the Invercargill Fire Board yesterday. The calls were to four dwellings and one grass, one hedge and two chimney fires. “The institutions at Lome Farm, Kew and Karitane were inspected when, with the exception of the low water level in one of the reservoirs at Lome Farm everything was found to be in order,” said the report. “The fire alarm points at St. Helens Hospital and Ellesland Nurses’ Home were also tested and found to be in order. All plant and. equipment are at present in good repair arid all routine duties have been carried out satisfactorily during the month.”
