FAREWELL DANCE AT DUNEARN

MR AND MRS E. W. SHARP HONOURED

A farewell social and dance was recently given in honour of Mr and Mrs E. W. Sharp ~in Mr W. Smith’s barn, Dunearn. A large gathering spent an enjoyable evening dancing, with vocal items at intervals, given by Mr L. Kelly (Dunearn) and Mr W. Tinker (Invercargill). Mr J. Plunkett, jun., was master of ceremonies.

Mr H. Kidd made a presentation of a roll of notes to the guests of honour. He referred to their long association with residents of the district and wished them success in their new residence at Makarewa. Messrs H. Smith and F. Burnett also spoke. An opportunity was taken to welcome to the district new residents, Mr and Mrs Keen. Mr and Mrs Sharp replied.
