BOXING

bluff association FORMED At a meeting of the Bluff Boxing Club last night it was decided to form the club into the Bluff Boxing Association. The following officers were elected: Patron, Sir Robert Anderson; president, Mr S. G. Mitchell; vice-president, Mr F, Vella; honorary vice-presidents, the Hon. T. F. Doyle, M.L.C., Messrs H. Perry, J. Calder, A. Gerrard (Winton) and W. B. Dixon; trustees, Messrs Evan McQuarrie and S. G. Mitchell; secretary, Mr T. Kelly. It was decided that a ring be erected in the Drill Hall and the association arrange for officials to be present to instruct Sea Scouts in the art of boxing. The association carried a motion thanking all those I who helped to make die previous tournaments a success. It was reported that negotiations were in train tor a professional bout at Bluff. ‘
