VISITING MEDICAL STAFF

SOUTHLAND HOSPITAL BOARD APPOINTMENTS APPROVED The following appointments to the visiting medical staff of hospitals under the control of the Southland Hospital Board, together with the salaries to be paid, were approved by the board at its monthly meeting yesterday:— Southland Hospital.—Eye, ear, nose and throat specialists, senior, Dr J. G. Macdonald (£4OO per annum); junior, Dr G. B. Orbell (£2OO per- annum); radiologist, Dr C. C. Anderson (£500); senior surgeons, Dr W. J. Barclay (£450), Dr S. E. V. Brown (£450), Dr A. T. McCaw (£450), junior surgeons, Dr D. R. Jennings (£250), Dr H. R. Gibson (£250), Dr R. Bums Watson (£250), senior physicians, Dr R. H. Howells (£450), Dr D. Pottinger (£450); dentist, Mr Ivon V. Wilson (£100).

During the. absence on military leave ' of Dr D. Pottinger, Dr Watson is to hold temporarily the position of senior physician.

Gore Hospital.—Surgeon superintendent,'Dr J. E. Rogers (£400); surgeon, Dr J. M. Watters (£400); radiologist, Dr R. G. Stokes (£400). Riverton Hospital.—Surgeon superintendent, Dr E. S. Fossey (salary as formerly); anaesthetist, Dr R. H. Gordon (£225).

Lake County Hospital.—Surgeon superintendent, Dr W. A. Anderson (salary as formerly).
