TRADE BETWEEN NEW CALEDONIA AND N.Z.
NO SHIPS AVAILABLE FOR SERVICE (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 19. The possibility of trade between New Caledonia and New Zealand was discussed today by the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. A letter from Noumea stated that it could export to New Zealand coffee, copra, fish, minerals and other commodities in return for cement and New Zealand primary products. Replying to the council’s inquiries the Northern Steamship Co. and the Union Steam Ship Co. stated that they were unable to provide ships for the service.
