CONCERT PARTY AT OREPUKI

RELIEF OF DISTRESS FUND TO BENEFIT A successful concert was given at Orepuki on Wednesday by the Returned Soldiers’ Association concert party. The hall was filled and it is expected that the London Relief of Distress Fund will benefit by about £3O. Mr E. D. Bone was chairman. Tire community singing was led by Mr B. Hammonds with Mr J N. Armstrong at the piano. Items were given by the following:— Ballets, Miss Jean Miller’s pupils; sketches, “Some Crooks,” “Psycho Analysis,” “Wireless,” “222,” “News” and “Musical Competition,” Returned Soldiers’ Association party; songs, Miss Dorothy Foothead; humorous item, Mr C. Paine; solo and chorus, Mr J. Neilson and Returned Soldiers’ Association party; solo, Mrs B. Hammonds; solo and chorus, Mr P. Linton Hodge and Returned Soldiers’ Association party; humorous items, Mr J. Gilchrist and his doll; banjo trio, members of the Returned Soldiers’ Association party; solos and choruses, “Goodbye.” “Widdicombe Fair,’’/‘Blue Heaven” and “Berlin or Bust,” Mr A. W. Kummert and Returned Soldiers’ Association party; conjuring tricks, Mr W. Holding. A flag collection and an auction Sale were held during the evening.
