(Special to The Times) CHRISTCHURCH, September 18. The annual meeting of the Geraldine Racing Club will be opened on the Orari racecourse tomorrow. The track is likely to be fairly firm and the win-and-place system of betting will be in use. The following horses are likely to be well supported:—

DJEBEL SENT TO STUD IN GERMANY

LONDON, September 17. Famous French racehorses seized by the Germans include Djebel, the winner of the Two Thousand Guineas, who has been sent to the stud in Germany. The best breeds of two celebrated stables were sent to England before the outbreak of war.
