The Wallace County Council acknowledged the request of the Progress League to have the work of widening the Riverton-Colac Bay road begun. The council stated this was entirely in the hands of the Public Works Department, and on account of the present crisis they were of the opinion that it was not right to ask for urgency concerning this road. It was decided to request the Riverton Borough Council to approach the Public Works Department in this matter, pointing out its urgency because of the accidents that had happened, particularly between Cassel street and Hodge’s corner. The Riverton Borough. Council wrote stating they were unable to have Towack street declared a one-way road, but that suitable sign-posts were to be erected.
A complaint is to be made to the Wallace County Council of the danger caused by the loose gravel on the road between Hodge’s corner and Goodwillie’s hill.
