HUNGARIAN CHARGES AGAINST RUMANIA
BUDAPEST, September 15. A semi-official statement accuses the Rumanian Army of a 10 days’ reign of terror against Hungarians living in the territories ceded to Hungary.
“Hungarian political circles were first inclined to believe that the atrocities were the work of irresponsible men, but the latest news suggests that a secret order was given by high authorities,” it is stated. “Hungary’s regret at these events is heightened by the fact that Rumania is oppressing 700,000 Hungarians. The Rumanian-Hungarian crisis plainly continues.”
