MEMBER OF GUILD FAREWELLED

MRS L. B. EDWARDS LEAVES BLUFF

St. Matthew’s school room was decorated with spring flowers when .St. Matthew’s Ladies’ Guild bad farewell to Mrs L. B. Edwards before her departure for Christchurch. There were also present other women members of the church. Musical items were given by Mesdames R. Spencer, J. Bragg, Smith and Fouster and Misses S. Hart and B. Bragg. The accompanist was Mrs Ryan.

Competitions.were won by Mesdames Haszard and Goodall. Mrs Burtenshaw referred to the impending departure of their guest She spoke of the many good qualities of Mrs Edwards and said they sincerely regretted her departure. Mrs E. A. Nichol also spoke in eulogistic terms of Mrs Edwards and asked her to accept

a bunch of spring flowers. Mrs Edwards thanked the members for their gift of a black handbag. She referred to the many happy years she had spent in Bluff.,

Great interest and amusement was aroused by some photographs displayed by members of the guild. These photographs depicted them in the early stages
