FAREWELL FUNCTION AT WAIHOAKA

MR AND MRS T. HINKLEY HONOURED

An enjoyable evening was spent in the Waihoaka hall, when the residents met to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs T. Hinkley and their family. Mr Hinkley is gbing into camp, and Mrs Hinkley is taking up residence- at Invercargill. On behalf of those present, Mr Martin presented Mrs Hinkley with a reading lamp and Mr Hinkley with a money-belt and fouptain pen. He wished them the best of luck. Other speakers were Messrs I. Young, Cooke and R. Dunnage (Orepuki). The first part of the evening was spent playing cards, the winners being: Mrs Thompson 1, and Mrs A. C. Macdonald (consolation). Mr T. Forde

won the men’s prize and Mr Hinkley the consolation prize. After supper dancing was enjoyed for a few hours, the music being supplied by Mr Menpes, Mrs Thompson playing the extras. Mr J. Beven was master of ceremonies.
