GAY FROCKING FOR PLAY

PATRIOTIC EFFORT AT

WINTON

“ELIZA COMES TO STAY”

One of the features of the play “Eliza Comes to Stay,” to be presented at the Theatre Royal, Winton, tomorrow evening in aid of the Patriotic .Fund, will be the carefully studied and selected wardrobe. The frocking promises to be effective, colourful and theatrical and should add value to the success of the production. Mrs J. L. Hazlett as Eliza, appears in the first act in a lengthy black and white checked skirt, a coloured blazer and a be-feathered straw boater. In the second act as an overdressed would-be actress, she wears a skunk cape over a violet frock of dull finished crepe with high waistline and fullflared skirt, black picture hat with bunch of violets on brim. Later, she wears a mist blue ensemble, the frock being tailored and the jacket, which has a wide basque, sports white revers and her blue felt Austrian-style hat is to tone. „ Mrs L. G. de la Perrelle, as Miss Vera Lawrence, an actress, makes her first appearance in an American model frock of black wool crepe with distinctive white collar and pocket effect. Her black velour hat is trimmed with a large velvet bow of the same colour. A silver fox fur and matching accessories complete her ensemble. Later she appears in a blue and white spotted sheer frock, plainly cut with a pleated skirt and white collar and cuffs. Her wide-brimmed white straw hat has a blue violet band on the shallow crown.

Mrs Brandford, as Lady Pennybroke, appears in the first act in a grey worsted pin striped tailored suit, black hat with black and white veil, and black accessories. In the second act she wears a floral georgette frock with wool georgette edge to edge coat, a black straw hat and silver fox fur. Mrs Beale, as the nurse is suitably attired in a voluminous white apron, perched cap and black button boots.
