SUCCESSFUL YEAR EXPERIENCED
INVERCARGILL POULTRY CLUB’S MEETING
“The year has been a successful one and the club is in a sound position, due mainly to the good work done by the members,” stated the president, Mr R. C. Wilson, at the annual meeting of the Invercargill Poultry, Pigeon, Canary and Pet Club. There was a good attendance.
The annual show in July had attracted a large number of exhibits, many being really outstanding, continued Mr Wilson. Although the club, like other bodies, would be affected by the war-time conditions he thought they could look forward with confidence to the future.
The president presented the trophies won by members during the year. The following officers were elected: Patron, Sir Robert Anderson; subpatrons, Messrs W. Aitchison, H. Nichol, P. Witt, John Gilkison, William Todd, A. Derbie, A. Wachner, G. Corbet, J. W. Smith, R. Harris, J. T. Martin, J. McDonald, W. M. C. Denham, S.. G. Mitchell, C. H. Cunningham, J. Cooke, sen., G. Moir, J. Brass, and G. Wilson, Dr D. Pottinger, Dr A. T. McCaw, and Dr R. Burns Watson; president, Mr R. C. Wilson; vice-presidents, Messrs F. J. Calvert, T. E. Dayis, F. L. Witting, G. Gough, A. Robertson, W. H. Pickford, P. G. Lindsay, J. Anderson, J. M. Cooke, J. Clent, G. D. Holloway, H. S. Strang, S. J. R. Dick, C. W. O. Schonyan, D. G. Strang and R. M. Patterson; secretary, Mr J. M. Cooke; treasurer, Mr H. G. Whelan; executive committee, Messrs A. J. Robertson, J. Neilson, R. Patterson, C. W. O. Schonyan, E. Gibb, K. Colyer, D. Double and J. P. Smith; auditor, Mr C. W. O. Schonyan. Messrs J. Anderson, S. Lindsay, S. J. R. Dick and J. Petrie were elected life members.
