LICENCES FOR FIFTH PERIOD

SCHEDULES TO BE ISSUED WITHIN FORTNIGHT (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 10. The schedules of the import licences for the fifth period are expected to be issued throughout the Dominion within a fortnight and it is generally anticipated that the period to be covered will be a year, instead of six months. The extension will be welcomed in commercial circles where greater elasticity is needed and also in departmental offices where changes resulting from the war have thrown an added burden on Customs officials.
