RELIABILITY TRIAL
SOUTHLAND MOTOR CYCLE CLUB. At the reliability run of the Southland Motor Association held on Tuesday the route was not announced until half an hour before the start. Competitors, therefore, had no chance of having a practice over the course.
The route was an extremely difficult one consisting of stretches of mud, a double grass bank, rabbit holes and swamps. The double grass bank was a difficult section and it was named Upzan Downs. A speed of' 24 miles per hour was set for the course.
After checking! through all the sheets it was found that out of 35 starters only three competitors had covered the whole of the course on both the morning' and the afternoon circuits. They were the only ones entitled to places. To fill the other positions the committee decided to take the marks of those competitors who had made one complete circuit either morning or afternoon.
