FOREST FIRES

HEAVY DAMAGE IN ONTARIO.

FARMERS AVIATOR PERISH.

(United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) Vancouver, June 3.

Paul Garton, a forestry protection aviator, and five farmers perished, as the result of the worst forest fires in Ontario for many years. Five others are missing. On a front of 150 miles enormous damage to property has been done. Hundreds of farmers' homes have been burned, and the women and children have been evacuated from the villages of Dyment and Robinson, both of which are reported to be ablaze.

Over many country roads women and children are trudging like war refugees.
