NEW ZEALANDERS IN NAVY.

Auckland, June 4. ’ A striking tribute to the New Zealanders under his command was paid by Commodore Blake when speaking at the luncheon to the King’s Empire Veterans. “I have under me 50 per cent, of men, born and bred in New Zealand, and I have no hesitation in saying I never want better men under my command. They are really magnificent.” ‘' Commodore Blake added that in Samoa recently the conditions were just as trying as active service and the men were really first class.
