PITCAIRN ISLAND

LOUD PRAISE OF HOSPITALITY.

“TREATED LIKE KINGS.”

(Per United Press Association.)

Auckland, June 3.

Two Wellingtonians, C. Denman and B. Murray, who were carried out to sea in the Corinthic on April 9 because they stayed too long in farewelling friends, returned today by the Tainui from Pitcairn Island, where they spent 33 daj-s. They are loud in their praise of the hospitality of the Pitcairners, who treated them like kings. Both being ex-soldiers they were able to give the Islanders a first-hand account of the war and they sat up night after night relating their experiences. The Islanders would not believe that there are pictures now which talk and sing.
