ARSENAL EXPLOSION
SEVEN CHINESE KILLED,
(United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright) (Rec. 12.40 a.m.) Shanghai, June 3.
A big explosion occurred this morning in Kiawgnan arsenal, which was busily engaged in manufacturing munitions for use by the forces of Chiang Kai-shek on the Northern front. While the Chinese authorities are reticent, it appears that seven men were killed and 27 injured. Extensive damage was caused.
An official version states that owing to the heat 5000 shells exploded.
