UNDERWORLD FEUD

THREE GANGSTERS MURDERED.

BURST FROM MACHINE GUN.

(United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 1 a.m.) Chicago, June 1. Three notorious gangsters were slain by their fellows early to-day at a road-house. Machine guns were placed on a window of the dining room and 300 slugs were fired at five persons seated at a table. Of the other two, one, a woman, was gravely wounded.

The dead include Sam Pellar and Michael Quirk,, who had been twice acquitted of murder, and Joseph Bertsche, a safe-blower who was recently released from goal. Three other men who drove the wounded 60 miles to Chicago University hospital refused .to give their names.

The chief detective is not sure whether it was war between the Moran and Capone gangs. He, however, expects retaliations.
