UNKNOWN MOUNTAIN
DISCOVERY IN HIMALAYAS.
NAMED BY EXPEDITION.
(United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright)
London, May 29.
The discovery of an unknown mountain about 23,000 ft high converging in a serene and stately summit of purest snow, which the Kinchinjunga Expedition named Madonna Peak, is" recorded in a cable from camp number two, dated May 8, which the message dated May 23 outstripped, presumably owing to runners’ difficulties in the Kang Pass. Professor Dyrenfurth had a lucky escape while climbing an" ice wall. He fell into a snow-covered crevasse, but was pulled put.
