UNEMPLOYMENT

REAPPOINTMENT OF CABINET COMMITTEE. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, May 29. The reappointment of the Cabinet Unemployment Committee was announced by the Prime Minister, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, last night. The chairman will be the Minister of Lands (Hon. E. A. Ransom) and the other members the Minister of Public Works (Hon. W. B. Taverner) and the Minister of Labour (Hon. S. G. Smith). The Prime Minister added that a good deal of preliminary work had been done concerning public works and tree-planting operations, and it was expected that quite a number of additional men would be absorbed in the near future.
