GORE WOMEN’S CLUB
MODERN CLUB ROOMS. Within the next two or three months the Gore Women’s Club will be in possession of modern and excellently equipped club rooms, which will enable it to carry on its activities under the most pleasant conditions possible. Plans for the new rooms have been incorporated in the additions now being made to the premises of Messrs H. and J. Smith and will be situated in the upstairs portion of the new building. Entrance to the rooms is gained either from Main or Irk streets, the stairways leading into a large artistically panelled hall. On one side of the hall a door gives access to aii up-to-date kitchenette equipped with electric points for heating, as well as with all the other appliances required for the efficient working of the.domestic side of the club. From the opposite side of t-he hall access is given to a card room 12ft x 10ft, which will be comfortably furnished for the use of the members. Another door leads into the main lounge room, which has been designed on such a scale as to meet the requirements of the .club for many years to come. This room is 31ft 6in square, is excellently lighted by means of large windows fronting Irk street, and is equipped with a modern stage, dressing rooms and other facilities which should enable the club to widen the scope of its artistic activities. ‘ •
The rooms will be panelled throughout, while the ceilings will be of plaster. In keeping with other parts of the building, the rooms will be centrally heated and when furnished should be both attractive and comfortable.
