RULES OF PROCEDURE
LAXITY CONDEMNED.
COMMENT BY CHIEF JUSTICE.

Wellington, May 28. A statement that he would not countenance laxity in the observance of rules regarding discovery and other rules of procedure was given in the Supreme Court by the Chief Justice. He said he had noticed that affidavits were brought time and again before the court to the effect “I am informed etc.” There was a rule that where a statement was made of that kind, that the source of information and the ground for the belief should be stated® That rule, to his mind, must be insisted tin.
