The half-yearly meeting of the Gore Druids’ Lodge was held in the Lqdgeroom on Friday, A.D. Bro. V. Gerken presiding over a splendid attendance of members. A special visit was paid to the Gore Lodge by the Pride of Mataura Lodge, which was extended the customary welcome by the A.D. and his officers, the visiting Arch Druid returning thanks for the heartygreetings. The visiting officers then demonstrated their method of carrying out Lodge business, initiating one candidate, the ceremony being most impressive and educative. Appreciation was expressed by members of the local Lodge for the excellent ritualistic work, which was done from memory and was a very heavy task for the youngest adult Lodge.
Bro. W. Crawford was elected District President, and was accorded musical honours.
A large amount of correspondence was dealt with, of particular interest being a letter from a brother Druid in California. It was decided to thank him for his letter.
During the evening a silver tea service, the present of the Lodge to Mr and Mrs T. J. Sherbourne on the-occasion of their golden wedding, . was on view.
