SHOP DESTROYED

FIRE AT STRATFORD. (Per United Pnss Association.) Stratford, May 22. Fire early this morning completely gutted the fancy goods shop of W. S. Clark, in Broadway. The flames had a good hold when the brigade arrived, but they confined them to the one shop, which is in the middle of a big block of wooden buildings, serious conflagration would have followed but for the prompt action of the brigade. Clark’s stock, which was completely destroyed, was insured for £1450 in the State Office, but was valued at about £3OO more. The building was insured for £BOO in the Standard Office.
