COMMITTED FOR TRIAL
ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO BREAK AND ENTER. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, May 21. John Bernard McDonald, alias Frederick McAlister, aged 29, a slaughterman, and James Olsen, aged 36, a labourer, who were found on the premises of the Grand Opera House on the night of May 10 were to-day committed for trial on charges of attempting to break and enter the counting house of J. C. Williamson N.Z. Ltd. with intent to commit crime and with being rogues and vagabonds in that they were found by night without lawful excuse in the Grand Opera House building. The story was that the night watchman found a broken file in a lock and summoned the police, a search revealing the two men hiding in seats in the stalls.
