ANTARCTIC REGIONS SIR DOUGLAS MAWSON’S REPORT GREAT POTENTIALITIES (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright) (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) Sydney, May 21. The report of Sir Douglas Mawson on Ids Australian and New Zealand Antarctic research expedition says: It can be definitely asserted that off the coast of Enderby Land there exists a very valuable whale fishery. It would appear that the Norwegian exploring vessel Norvegia located this whaling ground simultaneously with ourselves, arid from that fishery millions of pounds worth of products will be recovered cin the next few years. ■ The report adds that exhaustive hydrological data have been secured. About 1000 deep sea soundings were recorded, while biological studies . were, continued throughout the cruise on an extensive scale. The report also deals with experiences in the pack ice, after which Sir Douglas Mawson states that he charted' a new area which he designated Macßobertson Land together with lands further west known’’as Kemp Land and Enderby Land, the whole of which have been claimed for the Crown.
