INFLUENZA
RAGING IN BRITAIN
SIMILARITY TO 191 S OUTBREAK
(Rec. 7.30 p.m.) London, January 17. The influenza epidemic is spreading in many London suburbs, and the doctors are finding difficulty in coping with all cases. Fortunately the attacks in Britain are much milder than on the continent, and have not caused anything like such a heavy deathrat n but some features are similar to
the 1918 outbreak in Australia and New Zealand. Doctors are finding all members of some households abed, and are receiving instructions to obtain the key at another house and let themselves in. The present outbreak is attacking persons of all ages.— A. and N.Z.
