ASSERTION BY P.P.A. PRESIDENT. RAILWAYMEN’S CHALLENGE. WANGANUI, June 23. A mass meeting of the A.S.R.S. members was held to-day during lunch hour to discuss remarks by Mr Ewcn McGregor, presi- | dent of the executive of the P.P.A., during i his address to that organisation on Monday evening, when, speaking of the industrial j situation, he is reported to have said that j 1 the railway strike was engineered by disloyal people, “who ’ranted to belittle the Prince. The railwaymen to-day unanimously decided :— “That this largo meeting of Easttown railway employees enter an emphatic protest against such a slander on the railwaymen, and our executive in particular, who called the men out after a secret ballot had been taken and 94 per cent, of the mtnbers themselves had voted to cease work; also, wc call upon Mr McGregor to inform ua if he was speaking in his official capacity as president of the executive of the P.P.A. or as a private individual.” ■
