CHRISTCHURCH TRAMS
INCREASES OF FARES. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 21. At the annual meeting of the Tramway Board, the chairman, the Hon. John Barr, in hi# annual report, states that steps had now been taken that he hoped would enable the Board to finish up the present financial year with a credit balance, but time alone would show. The manner in which the public had acepted the fare increases was very gratifying indeed, and he hoped the financial circumstance# would permit the Board to have them down at an early date. The mo.-t irritating alteration was the complete non-transferabilily of the concesion tickets.
