STABBING AFFRAY
NARROW ESCAPE FROM FATALITY. (Per United Press Association.l WHAKATANE, June 16. At a flaxcutters' and drainers’ camp at Thorston on Sunday, Alexander Cameron was slabbed in the loin with a sheath knife, which penetrated two and a half inches, just missing inflicting a fatal wound in the kidneys. Patrick Tally was arrested and charged with (he offence yesterday. He was remanded for a week.
