The Minister of Justice stated to-day that the Cabinet had decided upon the introduction of legislation whieh would allow of Parkinson's ra.-e and similar c;tep.< being placed under the jurisdiction of the Prison.- Hoard. Should Parliament pass the legislation proposed it would enable such cases to be considered by the Prison.- Board, which will have power to make a ret nmt.icndation to the Governor-General for the release upon probation of prisoners situated as Parkinson is. if the Board deems such action advisable.
