MEETING OF CABINET

IMPORTANT BUSINESS FOR CONSIDERATION. THE PONSONBY MURDER. (Special to the Times.) WELLINGTON, June 13. The first full meeting of the Cabinet which has sat for some time will be held to-morrow. Probably other meetings will be held on succeeding days to deal with impo“ant business which has accumulated in the absence of Ministers from Wellington. One of the matters to be considered in a day or two will be the sentence on the murderer Dennis Gunn. All such sentences arc considered by the Cabinet, and the King or his representative, exercises the Royal prerogative of pardon or reprieve only on the advice of the Ministers. If. the advice is negative then the" death sentence is carried out, and the date is fixed for the execution.
