WELLINGTON RATES
SUBSTANTIAL INCREASES. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 11. The new schedule of rates as passed by the City Council last night provides for an increase in revenue of £24,400. The Mayor (Mr Luke), pointed out that there had been large increases in wages and salaries and in the hospital and charitable aid rate which had risen from £28,000 to £35,513.
