(Received June S, 11.45 p.m.i An investigation of the Japanese immigration question wiil be made on the Pacific Coast during the summer by members of the Immigration Committee of Congress. Senator Phelan, of California, asked the committee to investigate the situation with a view of renewing the efforts for the passage of pending legislation which would bar ail Japanese immigrants from the Pacific Coast, and prohibit Japanese children born in the United States from acquiring citizenship.
